To save the lives of young children from economically weaker sections who cannot afford the cost of expensive cardiac surgery,
Spice Telecom has teamed up with the Rotary Club of Chandigarh and its youth wing, Rotaract Club, to organise a fund-raiser,
'Spice Heartline' on
February 8 in the city, featuring international music group, Jal, and Indi-pop band,
Aryans.
The 'Spice Heartline Concert' will also see Indo-Pak friendship ties reaching an all new high, as the Concert, is a unique amalgamation of
young talent from across the border, in the form of pop group, Jal, accompanied by the famous Indi-pop band, Aryans, who would be performing for the very first time in City Beautiful - to lend a helping hand in this humanitarian cause. The fund raiser not only aims to raise funds for heart ailments but also promises to raise the heartly ties between the two countries.
The Heartline Project, under the aegis of The Rotary Club of Chandigarh, has been engaged in the task of saving the lives of children upto the age of 20 years, who otherwise cannot afford corrective open heart surgery. In order to reach out to these special children, Spice Telecom & the Rotary Club, will be organizing the
'Spice Heartline' fund-raiser concert on February 08, 2006 at Leisure Valley, Sector 10, from 6:00 p.m. onwards, the proceeds of which will be given to
the Chandigarh Rotary Club Service Trust which in turn will use the money to perform heart surgeries for the children, who otherwise cannot afford the cost of the treatment
Commenting on this noble cause,
Mr. Mukul Khanna, General Manger-Marketing, Spice Telecom, stated that "Spiceans have always come forward to support any noble cause, as this is our way of saying we care for the people of Punjab. It is indeed a privilege & honour to be associated with the Rotary Club of Chandigarh, to raise funds for the Heartline Project, where economically disadvantaged children will be given free medical aid. We hope through this association, Spice is able to reach out and save a few more young lives. In recent past as well, Spice has actively associated with various social causes, but this opportunity shall extend the reach of SPICE's commitment to do good for the society and what better way to do so than associate itself in this humanitarian cause - the Spice Heartline Concert."
The Rotary Club of Chandigarh in association with the PGIMER has already conducted 129 cardiac surgeries in the past four years free of cost, through their own resources. The Spice Heartline fund-raiser shall help the Club in ensuring that no child in the region dies for want of money, says
Rotary Club President Charanjit Singh. This endeavour in association with Spice Telecom, which has always been actively associated with various social causes, shall help us reach out and save a few more lives, he added.
