Spice Telecom rolls out Voice SMS Service for subscribers in Punjab
 
  • Freedom to send SMS without typing the message, by simply recording your  message
  • Dial 666 to record Voice SMS and 6666 to retrieve the Voice SMS
  • Facility to Save, Forward, Schedule, Re-Record and Send to Multiple Recipients
  • Free Voice SMS till 30 April for Spice Subscribers
  • At a monthly rental pack of Rs. 25/- Subscribers can records & send 100 voice SMS each of 30 seconds duration.
  • Chandigarh, April 19, 2006:
    Adding a new dimension to the way people communicate on the mobile, Spice Telecom, Punjab's premier cellular operator, has today launched 'Voice SMS Service' for subscribers across Punjab. The new value added Voice SMS service, will make communication faster and more convenient for subscribers, as the sender can record the message in his own 'Voice' instead of having to type and send the SMS. Voice SMS service will enable users to communicate more effectively too, as 'Voice' messages shall be able to communicate the emotions more clearly than a typed message.

    Distinct Advantage of Spice Voice SMS Service
    The distinct advantages of Spice Voice SMS service is that subscribers can save, forward, reply and send the message to multiple recipients. The service interface is available in three different languages, namely English, Hindi and Punjabi. The sender can also schedule the Voice SMS to be delivered at a future date and time so that even on celebratory occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, a personalised Voice SMS can be sent to a near & dear one. Moreover, the recipient can also save the Voice SMS and can listen to them at his disposal.

    How to use Voice SMS Service: In the constant endeavour to give more value to customers the ISD rates for new and existing pre-paid and post-paid subscribers have been reduced by up to 57%
  • To use the service, subscriber have to dial 666 followed by the recipient's ten digit mobile number and records the message
    Eg. 6669814123456 (666 + 10 digits cell number)
  • The recipient receives a text SMS from the sender's number giving him the details of the Voice SMS.
  • To retrieve the Voice SMS the recipient has to dial 6666


  • Commenting on the launch of Voice SMS service, Mr. Mukul Khanna, Assistant Vice President - Marketing, Spice Telecom, Punjab, stated that," Spice has been providing its subscribers with exciting products and services. The launch of Voice SMS, that gives Spice subscribers freedom from typing long and tedious messages by simply recording & sending their message in their own Voice, is another such exciting service from Spice. Messaging service is one of the fastest growing and the most popular value added service, with the launch of Voice SMS; we hope to be able to provide our valued subscriber with a faster, economical and exciting mode of communication."
    All Spice subscribers can access the Voice SMS service FREE of cost till April 30, 2006. After which a nominal charge shall be applied.

    After April 30, 2006, to access Voice SMS service, customers will need to subscribe to the monthly rental pack

  • Monthly Rental Pack At a monthly rental of Rs.25/-, subscribers can record and send 100 Voice SMS of a maximum 30 second duration
