Spice employees donate blood on eve of World Blood Donor Day

Chandigarh, June 13, 2007 :

On the eve of World Blood Donor, a special day dedicated to celebrating and thanking voluntary non-remunerated blood donors, Spice Telecom in association with the Rotary Club, today organized a ‘Blood Donation Camp’ at the Spice Head Office at Mohali. The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Prakash Nanani, CEO, Spice Telecom and Mr. Manmohan Singh, President, Rotary Club, also present was Ms. Neeti Sarin, Gen Secretary, Blood Bank Society.

The occasion was marked with much enthusiasm as more than 100 Spice employees came forward to donate blood to this noble cause. The blood donation camp was organised in coordination with Blood Bank Society, Sec 37, Chandigarh. The Blood Bank Society is an organisation run by volunteers of repute from diverse fields, who selflessly encourage people to participate & donate most valuable fluid, to aid those affected. The occasion was marked by surprise gifts, movie tickets, along with Donor card for participants. A team of well-qualified doctors, alongwith volunteers coordinated the event.


Commenting on the Blood Donation Camp, Mr. Prakash Nanani, CEO, Spice Telecom, stated that “Continuing with the role of responsible corporate citizens, possessing true Spicean spirit, Spice employees have shown their responsibility towards society in yet another innovative manner. This time around 100 employees volunteered to donate blood to the noble cause. By joining forces with Rotary and the Blood Bank Society we hope to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and the importance of regular voluntary blood donation.”
