~ A fund- raiser rock concert in aid of economically weak children with heart ailments ~

Spice Telecom along with Rotary Club & its youth wing Rotaract Club, Chandigarh , in an endeavor to save the lives of children from economically weaker sections suffering from cardiac disorders, is once again organising a fund raiser rock concert . This live show will feature two, of the leading bands in India – Parikrama & Indian Ocean on October 13, 2006 at the Leisure Valley , Chandigarh . T he proceeds of the concert will go to the Chandigarh Rotary Club Service Trust for the Rotary Heartline Project.

Addressing the media here today on this occasion, Mr. Man Mohan Singh, President, Rotary Club of Chandigarh said, “Our mission is that no child should die in this region for want of money “. The club has already provided free cardiac surgery to 138 children since the start of the project in 2003 in association with the PGIMER and the Fortis Hospital .

Furthermore to provide encouragement to the budding young talent of the city, Spice Telecom , is also organising an inter-college rock band competition . Approximately 15 bands from various colleges in Chandigarh are participating in the competition and the winner will get an opportunity to perform in front of the home crowd along with the best in the industry.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Sidharth Mehra , Assistant General Manager - Marketing, Spice Telecom , stated that “Spice has always endeavored to promote art & culture in the region and offer varied experience to its customers. Amongst the youth, Rock is undeniably the most popular form of music. It is indeed an honour to partner with the Rotary Club, for this noble cause. Spiceans always endure to come forward and support various noble causes, as this is one of the ways in which we give back to the society.”

The donor passes to the event will be available from October 9 onwards at the Spice showrooms located at Sector 35 & Sector 17, at nominal prices of Rs.500, Rs.150 & Rs.75 only. The passes shall also be available with the Rotaract Club of Chandigarh .

Social endeavor of the Rotary Club

The Rotary Club of Chandigarh in association with the PGIMER and Fortis Hospital has already conducted 136 cardiac surgeries in the past four years free of cost, through their own resources.
